Seafood Spectacular

seafoodimg1The 23rd annual Rotary Seafood Spectacular will be held on Thursday November 2, 2017.  The event takes place at the Rotary Conservation Area at Hatchet Creek.  The original event was formed as a fun and fellowship to help the Volunteer Center of Alachua County cover their administrative expenses for the “Hope for the Holidays.”  The Volunteer Center of Alachua County was started by Rotarian E.T. York.

The event was originally themed as an “October Fest.”  It featured Angelina, the Polka Queen and King Ira.  The event lasted for two years and was replaced with what is now known as the Seafood spectacular.  The original event was started in 1995 and the event has continued to build momentum over the years, as a special event for Rotarians and community members to enjoy fun and fellowship.  This event comes together with the endless work from some Rotarians that “make it happen” behind the scenes.  This event comes together every year with the help of many Rotarians that enjoy food, spirits, and fellowship!
